KNMA is encouraging people stuck at homes during lockdown to explore their artsy side through these online workshops that explain step by step process of making simple but interesting artworks at home. These Stay at Home workshops are fun and inclusive for people of all age groups as both children and adults are enjoying these sessions and are learning new art skills to make most of the time during the lockdown.
For example, KNMA is hosting a unique art competition for housebound students titled ‘Mask-a-thon’. The contest puts the ubiquitous protective cover at its very heart. This initiative is also an effort to help encourage children to use their creativity, and not allow the lockdown to diminish students’ engagement with the arts. Thus, the competition challenges school children to use the mask as a canvas for their creative effort. The choice of the mask is significant as it is one of the main tools being used to combat the virus. It also serves to highlight the key role played by healthcare workers in managing the pandemic.
